yeah....
And I guess I have a lot more time this semester to do crap like this! yay! I'm finished with Science and Soicial studies for the rest of my life! perfect. This semester I've got all the good stuff: Math 31, Band/Eng, Special Projects art, SPARE!
add them all up and you get my-life-is-awesome.
So... Special Projects is really exciting. I'm using water-soluble oils for the first time! They're so much fun and they turn out really vibrant and beautiful. Now I just need new brushes...
Anyways, I'm going to be working on a large painting using oils to enter into a Western Art contest which the Calgary Stampede puts on every year for art students in grade twelve. The first three places get scholarships (I can't remember how much) and then someone else's work is used for posters for next year (I'm pretty sure, anyways). Last year two girls from Aberhart won first and third prize! Their pieces were amazing and it's a lot to live up to...
Yes, anyways, I thik I'm going to try out a landscape this time. Hopefully I can create some sort of interesting effects or something original to make mine stound out from the crowd... I'm terrified though. I'm not going to be working directly from a reference picture this time AND I have to complete it at the latest before March 22nd because I'm going on a trip with the band to Germany the 23rd.
... Thank life for that spare.
...And the Germany trip!!! SO STOKED!
yeah, so if anyone is an oil guru or just has interesting ideas or tips, I'd like to hear them
WISH ME LUCK!
